Have a couple of Skoda Octavia vRSs.
The vRS does away with the 181bhp 2.0TSi and replaces it with a plug-in hybrid of a 1.4TSi petrol engine (148bhp) with a 85kW electric motor making 242bhp.
So if you don’t like the look of the new Mk8 Golf GTi, check out it’s Czechia sibling, unless you live in North America. Sorry.

I’m not sure I approve. A few more hp and immediate throttle response at the low end would be nice, but the 2.0 TSI is a much nicer engine than the 1.4, the fuel consumption is pretty decent already, and the weight won’t help the handling.
And why do they keep using that horrid primer g rey for press cars?

The Octavia really should be the North American Jetta - I think it would sell much better.

Ye’, unfortunately were now in the period of transition to fully electric cars with tighter and tighter emissions regulations put on larger engine sizes. I think hybrids will still be around for quite some time as it’s just not possible or suitable for all homes to have fully electric cars, not just in far out places in inner city spaces and dwellings like terrace housing where I am.

They love SUV’s and they’re a type of hatchback? I think it’s always been a marketing problem. “The SUV that drives like a car” or something
like that.
